THE EVERYCHILD FOUNDATION PRESENTS
$1 MILLION GRANT TO STOP
THE SCHOOL-TO-PRISON PIPELINE

Los Angeles, CA – February 22, 2018 – Please join us Friday, March 2, at Skirball Cultural Center for our Annual Everychild Foundation Luncheon and $1 Million Grant Presentation to the Center for Juvenile Law & Policy (CJLP) at Loyola Law School, Los Angeles.

The grant will launch the Everychild Integrated Educational and Legal Advocacy Project, which aims to stop the school-to-prison pipeline for “crossover youth,” the name given to foster youth who are also involved in the juvenile justice system. This program intends to increase graduation rates for crossover kids and their potential to become productive members of society.

The CJLP currently provides integrated pro bono advocacy for juveniles in delinquency court. The Everychild-funded program will expand those services to include integrated legal and educational representation for an anticipated 300 crossover youths during the three-year launch period. The project will also train 1,500 child advocates in education law, including delinquency and disability issues.

The Everychild Foundation is a women’s giving circle that relies on member contributions to fund a $1 million grant each year to a non-profit benefiting children. Founded by Jacqueline Caster in 1999, Everychild’s mission is to ease suffering of children in the Greater Los Angeles area whether due to disease, disability, abuse, neglect or poverty. This is the 18th consecutive award made by Everychild, bringing its overall community contributions to date to $16 million, with more than one million children served.
